476 cadets take part in NCC training camp
Visakhapatnam: The combined annual NCC training camp of 2 (Andhra) composite technical regiment for 2018-19 was concluded here at GITAM University on Wednesday. Over 476 NCC cadets from Vizianagaram, Srikakulam and Visakhapatnam participated in the training camp under the supervision of Camp Commandant Col Amit Sharma, Deputy Camp Commandant Col Sk Patnaik.
Speaking on the occasion, Amit Sharma said the training camp would help the cadets to improve overall capabilities and helpful to perform well in NCC A,B,C certificate examinations. He urged the cadets to choose a career in Indian Armed Forces, which would give them an opportunity to serve the nation and better career with adventure life.
SK Patnaik briefed about various entry schemes to join Armed Forces. The cadets were given training in various military subjects like map reading, weapon training, small arms firing, battle craft, field craft and weapon drill. The NCC Associate Officers delivered lectures on stress management, personality development, health and hygiene, Swachh Bharat and internal security threats in the country.
The camp had selected 65 best cadets from north costal districts from the total attendees to give a chance to participate in Pre-Republic Day camp at Secunderabad and vie for a spot for the Republic Day Contingent at New Delhi.
