Contract staff pour out their woes before Jagan
Salur (Vizianagaram): The staff working under outsourcing and contract basis met YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy during his Praja Sankalpa Yatra and explained how they were being exploited by the government. They said that their services are not recognised and even salaries are not increased. On Wednesday, Jagan walked with locals of Sanyasirajupeta and Baguvalasa of Salur constituency.
Craft and art teachers working in the government schools on contract basis said that they had been in service for the past 10-15 years but they were not being regularised. They pointed out that TDP had promised to regularise their services earlier on many occasions but reneged on it. Even the staff of Sakshara Bharat scheme and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan also explained their woes to the Opposition leader during his yatra.
Asha workers belong to medical and health department also met him and sought his support to their struggle to get the salaries on par with Telangana staff. Sugarcane and vegetables farmers told him that middlemen were minting profits by paying pittance to their produce and selling them at high prices.
Women self-help groups complained that their loans were not waived and bankers were demanding repayment and issuing notices for instalments. Jaganmohan Reddy planted a sapling at Baguvalasa on the occasion of completion of 3,200 kilometre of Praja Sankalpa Yatra.
