Pre-planned attack on Jagan, alleges YSRCP

Kurnool: Panyam YSRCP MLA Gowru Charitha Reddy has condemned the attack on Opposition leader and YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy inside the airport in Visakhapatnam on Thursday. Addressing the media at party office here on Thursday, the MLA made ruling government responsible for the attack as it failed to provide adequate security cover.

She alleged it was a pre-planned attack on YS Jagan as Srinivas, who inflicted knife injury on the YSRCP chief, was working as a waiter in a canteen owned by TDP supporter in the airport premises. “Accused posing himself as a fan of YS Jagan has approached him and attacked him with a knife which is used in cock fights,” she stated.

The MLA asked as to how the accused was able to carry knife inside the airport by giving a slip to the security personnel. She demanded a CBI probe into the incident. YSRCP leaders Kangati Sridevi Reddy and Cherukulapadu Pratap Reddy were present. YSRCP State General Secretary Katasani Rambhupal Reddy has described the attack on Jagan as cowardice act. Party activists have staged protests and road blockades across the district and burnt the effigies of the state government.
