Vijayawada: The members of Students Federation of India (SFI) staged a protest in front of the Regional Inspection office here on Friday demanding rollback of the enhanced Intermediate examination fees.

They also demanded extension of the last date of the examination of Intermediate which was announced earlier.

Speaking on the occasion SFI state vice-president A Ashok demanded the government to reduce the examination fee of 2018-19, as the enhancement fee would be additional burden on the poor students studying in government colleges.

He further said the students are facing problems with the high fees collected by the private and Corporate institutions and the increase of the examination fee will be more of a burden to them.

SFI, state secretary, M Someswara Rao said, the officials of the Education department failed to implement the Right to Education Act in the state and they didn’t peruse the representations given by them at the beginning of the academic year.

He on behalf of all the students demanded the government to rollback the fees and extend the last date of payment. SFI leaders Kotababu, Sumanth, Gopi and others were present.
