Vijayasai blames lax security for attack on Jagan

Update: 2018-10-26 05:30 IST

Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party senior leader and MP V Vijayasai Reddy strongly condemned the assault on his party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy in Vizag airport  on Thursday. He said that the state government’s failure in providing adequate security to Jagan and also lack of vigilance at the airport was the result of the attack on the main opposition leader in Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing the press here,  Vijayasai  Reddy alleged that the ruling TDP and a group of  police officials had conspired to eliminate the YSRCP leader.  The party has been demanding to scale up security to Jagan but the government did not bother to do so. Vijaysai Reddy said that  a TDP leader B Venkateswar Rao in collusion with the police officials hatched conspiracy to hurt his party leader.

He pooh-poohed  the  government’s decision to constitute SIT to probe into the incident of the attack on YSRCP chief. Chief Minsiter  N Chandbrabu Naidu ordered a SIT probe into the land scam in Visakhapatnam but no action was taken even after the investigation was completed, he said.  The YSRCP Rajya Sabha member came down heavily on DGP R P Thakur for making comments that the attacker is a fan of Jagan.
