Student’s death sparks protests in vijayawada

Vijayawada: The death of an intermediate second year student sparked off protests from the parents and his relatives at the Government Hospital in Vijayawada on Saturday.  

According to Kankipadu police,   Atmakuru Srikanth, 18, committed suicide by hanging in the bathroom of hostel room on Friday in Kankipadu mandal. 

The student was suffering from fever and asked the college hostel staff to give permission to go home in Kurnool. But, the staff outrightly rejected his leave. 

Disappointed with the incident, the student ended his life on Friday night.
