People should be aware of schemes: Dist Judge B S Bhanumathi
Visakhapatnam: District judge justice B S Bhanumathi called upon the people to be aware of welfare programmes implemented by the government.
Inaugurating the legal services camp organised by the District Legal Services Authority at Padmanabham in the district on Saturday, the justice said that the main objective of the camp was to create awareness on welfare schemes and to check how the benefits being reached to beneficiaries.
According to National Legal Services Authority directions, the legal services camps being organised to create awareness among people on the government welfare programmes and schemes.
To provide legal assistance to the poor people on various aspects, the legal services authority at district, state and national level were established, Bhanumathi said.
She called upon the people to visit various government stalls set up at the programme to create awareness on the welfare programmes of the government.
DLSA secretary S Damodara Rao said the authority would provide free legal assistance to workers in the unorganised sector, mentally challenged and people who are suffering with various health issues also.
The people who are not getting even medical aid also can approach the authority, he suggested.
On the occasion, 26 government departments set up stalls explaining about their services to people.
The officials explained to the justice about various welfare programmes being implemented in the district including Chandranna Bheema, issuing of Sadaran certificates and other programmes.
Senior officials of all the departments including police were present.
