TDP’s Dharma Porata Deeksha in Proddatur today

Update: 2018-10-30 05:30 IST

Amaravati: Amidst mounting political heat in the wake of attack on YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy, TDP supremo and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is going to address the public in YSR Kadapa district as part of Dharma Porata Deeksha on Tuesday.

Chandrababu Naidu will participate in the programme at Bollavaram Ground in Proddatur town at around 2 pm. Since the YSRCP is strong in Kadapa, the native district of Opposition leader Jaganmohan Reddy, the public meeting of the Chief Minister in the district gained importance.

Even though the attack on Jaganmohan Reddy happened four days ago, still the blame game between the ruling TDP and the YSRCP has been continuing. After that development, Chandrababu Naidu went to New Delhi and met senior leaders representing different political parties.

He also alleged collusion between the BJP and YSRCP. Naidu blamed the Centre for using YSRCP as a political pawn to destablise  his government.

The TDP has been holding Dharma Porata Deekshas in different districts to exert pressure on the BJP-led NDA government to accord the Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh and fulfil other promises made in AP Reorganisation Act-2014.

Though the Dharma Porata Deeksha in Proddatur was supposed to be held on October 20, it was postponed due to wet ground conditions following rains. The TDP leaders are expecting large gathering for the public meeting to demonstrate the strength of the party in Kadapa.

Chandrababu Naidu will not only speak on the development and welfare schemes being implemented for the poor in the State and the district, but will also focus on the political developments and the Centre-State relations.

He will extensively speak on the collusive politics being pursued by the BJP and YSRCP leaders, conspiracies behind the attack on Jaganmohan Reddy and many others, explained a TDP senior leader on Monday.

At the same time, Chandrababu Naidu is also giving more priority for this meeting in Kadapa, since the general elections will be held very soon.  The meeting is expected to help Naidu to build confidence among the party cadre in Kadapa particularly and Rayalaseema generally. The TDP has been working hard to give tough fight to the YSRCP in Kadapa in the ensuing elections.
