Commissioner J Nivas suspends sanitary inspector A Venkateswara Rao

Vijayawada: VMC Commissioner J Nivas issued suspension orders to sanitary inspector A Venkateswara Rao of 30 and 31 divisions here on Thursday.

As part of the inspection of the city, the Commissioner visited 29, 30 and 31 divisions under VMC limits and conducted a field level inspection of the sanitary works and garbage segregation from houses in those divisions.

He visited Chittinagar, KL Rao Nagar, Bank Colony and Lambadipeta internal roads of the area and inspected the garbage segregation and later inspected the dumping bin at the Railway yard.

He expressed his dissatisfaction over the segregation of wet and dry garbage and expressed his ire over the sanitary inspector Vankateswara Rao and suspended him.

The commissioner gave strict instructions to the workers to separate dry and wet garbage while collecting from the houses. Workers who neglect segregation of wet and dry garbage would be removed from their job, warned the Commissioner.

Later, he visited Rotary Nagar, Kabela road, Urmila Subbarao Nagar, New Bhagat Singh Nagar in 29th division and inspected the sanitary and garbage segregation works. 

The Commissioner spoke to the residents and enquired about the garbage collection. He urged the residents to separate wet and dry garbage and give to the sanitary workers.

Executive engineer K Koteswara Rao and others accompanied him.
