Stop ISKCON supply of meals: AISF

Vijayawada: The leaders of AISF demanded that the state government solve the problems of students. In this regard, the AISF leaders staged a protest at Lenin Centre here on Wednesday.

Addressing the media on the occasion, the AISF city secretary, KP Charan Sai alleged that the TDP government had shut down about 5,000 schools and 450 social welfare hostels across the state after coming to power. 

He said that by closing the schools, the government was indirectly forcing the rural poor to stop studying instead of encouraging them to study.  He demanded that the government increase the mess and cosmetic charges for the students of the welfare hostels.

He asked the government to fill 28,000 vacant teacher posts and protect government education system. He demanded that the government stop ISKCON Akshayapatra from providing meals. State leaders Paruchuri Kumar, district vice-president G Mallesh, city leaders Durga Prasad, Venkatesh and others were present.
