North-east monsoon enters Telugu States
Visakhapatnam: After the much disappointed southwest monsoon in the state, north-east monsoon entered Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states on Friday. AP has been witnessing cyclones every year during the northeast monsoon season. This year also, according to the early predictions of the IMD scientists, there will be depressions/cyclones in the month of November, particularly in north coastal districts.
During the south-west monsoon, which ended recently, the state has not received good rains and out of 13 districts in Andhra Pradesh, only 4 districts received normal rainfall and the other districts registered scanty and less rainfall. With this, all the water bodies are almost dried up and the government is expecting good rains at least from northeast monsoon.
Cool winds already entered both Telugu states. According to the previous seasons, one or two cyclones/depression may occur during the north-east monsoon season, one of the IMD scientists told The Hans India. Presently a trough is moving across the coastal belt from Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh and rains are predicted in the next 48-hours, the scientist said.
