‘Instruct AP govt to implement 7th pay panel recommendations’

Tirupati: Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM), a Higher Education Teachers Association, sought the UGC to instruct the state government for the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission recommendations to all the teachers working in higher educational institutions in the state. 

ABRSM State Convener Prof YV Rami Reddy on Saturday met the newly appointed UGC Vice-Chairman Dr Bhushan Patwardhan in his office at New Delhi to congratulate him and also submit a representation on the long pending demands of the teachers in Andhra Pradesh. 

The demands represented include enhancing the retirement age of teachers to 65 as per the recommendation of UGC, reviving the UGC Major Research Project (MRP) which was in suspension, directing the state government on the revision of pension scale to retired teachers as per 7th Pay Commission report and extending the monthly Rs 80,000 fellowship announced by Prime Minister to researchers in all state university and higher education institutions in the state.
