Officials deny earthquake rumours near Polavaram

Amaravati: The RTG officials at Secretariat informed that there was no threat to Polavaram Irrigation project and they stated that there was no such earthquake in the Polavaram dam area.  The roads got damaged and cracks appeared on BT roads only due to bad soil condition, the RTGS officials informed in a press statement here on Saturday. 

“No earthquake was recorded at the Polavaram and its surrounding areas on Saturday. For the last 48 hours, there were no such symptoms near Polavaram. The cracks and gaps appeared on the roads near Polavaram project only due to evaporation of moisture in the soil and environment. Concerned authorities have been monitoring the developments at the project site keenly”, the statement said.
