On the otherhand, the ruling TDP is lagging behind as the present MLA M Geetha is maintaining distance with public and even with cadre. The local leaders are suspecting her candidature in next elections. Actually, she joined TDP in just before the Assembly elections in 2014 from Congress and unexpectedly won. Later she fails to impress party men and also people.

She is likely to be denied party ticket this time. According to sources, Ashok Gajapathi Raju , the present MP is likely to be contested from Vizianagaram as MLA. The local cadre of TDP is in dilemma as they are not able to know about the candidate.  K.Narsinga Rao, district president of Telugu Yuvatha said, `` We are always in the party work and eager to participate in any assignment given by the high command. Who ever is the MLA candidate we don't bother but our aim is to reach every person.'’.

On the other side the parties like BJP, Congress , left parties would play only a nominal role as they don't have any significant role here. BJP is not strong enough to compete with TDP and YSRCP and congress has list it's base after bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
