JNTU-A Registrar S Krishnaiah felicitated
Anantapur: JNTU-A Registrar S Krishnaiah was felicitated by teaching faculty and employees on the occasion of completing four years in his office. Speaking on the occasion, Krishnaiah said that as part of boosting facilities and infrastructure in the campus, pharmacy and administrative block buildings have been completed and being readied for inauguration. Also, 31 acres belonging to government polytechnic has been transferred to the JNTU for improving infrastructure facilities and buildings needed for colleges and hostels.
A solar plant with 500 kVA capacity has been set up to reduce the burden of power bills of the university. The Siemens' Centre of Excellence also effectively functioning as part of the skill development programme, he added. The Registrar revealed that hostels, laboratories and the placement cell-cum-canteens of the engineering colleges at Kalikiri and the Pulivendula are also being developed as part of the JNTU infrastructure development. The university is taking foolproof steps to get the NBA and NAAC accreditation which are hallmarks of quality education. Krishnaiah said the priorities in the next couple of years would be the development of academic staff college and establishment of hostel for international students and taking up welfare initiatives for varsity staff.
