Karnataka bypoll outcome a curtain-raiser, says Chandrababu Naidu
Amaravati: Upping the ante against the BJP, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday said that byelection results in Karnataka were the writing on the wall of what was going to happen to BJP in the next general elections.
The BJP lost all but one of four Lok Sabha seats and the lone assembly seat for which by-elections were held which showed that the BJP's fortunes were on a downward spiral.
Interacting with the ministers after the state Cabinet meeting at Secretariat, Chandrababu Naidu said that the Karnataka voters had taught a fitting lesson to the fascist BJP by trouncing its candidates at the bypolls.
He said that the defeat of BJP was an expression of public anger against autocratic ruling of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Congress- JD (S) coalition has won a majority of the bypolls which indicated that the people were supporting the alliance.
Lambasting Modi for the failures on all fronts, Chandrababu Naidu said that the NDA dispensation remained a mute spectator when the prices of essential commodities were going up. The Centre was responsible for making the CBI, RBI, IT and ED discredited.
Their credibility was at its lowest ebb, he said. He shared his view that the BJP was resorting to bullying tactics with an intention to destabilise the TDP government using its investigation agencies.
He said that the RBI governor had contemplated resignation because of the interference of the Centre in its functioning. He said that the people were fed up with the attitude of Narendra Modi and were longing for a change.
