Three-day Amaravati Air Show from November 23
Vijayawada: The Amaravati Tourism Development Corporation and FICCI will jointly host the prestigious Amaravati Air Show from November 23 to November 25. The event is an acrobatic display and aviation summit. It is aimed at projecting Amaravati brand at international level especially in the aviation space.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will participate in the opening day and closing day functions of the Air Show. The first edition of the event was conducted on the 11th and 12th of January 2017 and was a feast to the eyes of the citizens of Vijayawada.
The event saw enthusiasts, dignitaries and general public flocking the Punnami Ghat on the banks of River Krishna. This is first of its kind event in the world to happen in air space beyond the boundaries of an airport.
The second edition of the event is scheduled from 23rd to 25th November 2018. The UK team, Global Stars team, with four Aircraft will perform breathtaking manoeuvres such as formations of loops and barrel rolls. The show organisers have requested the removal of power lines on the river and creation of a one kilometre air strip to aid the future aviation events in the city.
Social media awards on November 9: Social Media Summit and Awards function would be conducted by the Tourism Department at A-plus convention center on November 9 and Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium on November 10. Social Media Summit & Awards is a massive national movement started to connect people, provide content and extended conversations around emerging trends in social media.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will give awards to the winners and the participants. It shall witness participation from distinguished personalities such as Divya Spandana (former Member of Parliament and Indian film actress), VVS Laxman (cricketer), Mayuk Choudhury (Founder of milaap.org) and others. The award ceremony shall witness prominent personalities such as Devi Sri Prasad (musician), Kareena Kapoor (actress) and others.
