Amaravati: Stressing the need to create awareness among people on the development that had taken place in the last four years in the state, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to ensure awareness was created among people in villages and towns on the developmental programmes through writing them on walls.

He said during a teleconference on Grama Darsini on Thursday from Undavalli that government officials must explain to the people the development achieved by the state. There must be discussion on the development and welfare provided by the state government despite bifurcation problems and Central government’s non cooperative attitude, he added.

The Chief Minister said that public satisfaction had increased by five per cent since the Grama Darsini programme was launched. “It increased to 77 per cent from 72 per cent. This must increase to more than 90 per cent by January,” he stressed.

On Centre neglecting the plight of Titli cyclone victims, Naidu said that the state government ensured normalcy in the affected areas with its limited resources in 25 days. He said that the Union government did not provide any financial or other moral support to the cyclone-affected people of Srikakulam district.

He said that the government prepared plans for development of more than 10,000 villages and asked the officials to complete the plans for the remaining villages too as early as possible.  These village-specific plans will help in developing each village as a unit, he observed.

The Chief Minister said that they had formed multi-disciplinary teams with 5,674 students. He asked the officials to use these teams effectively to create awareness among public on development that took place in the state.

He suggested to them to write the development of every village on walls, which would help to discuss them at village level. During the meeting, he explained the statistics and feedback on the performance of officials in Grama Darsini programme.
