Demonetisation ruined financial system: Congress

Update: 2018-11-10 05:08 IST

Ongole: The demonetisation introduced by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government with ‘despotism’ has ruined the national financial system and de-stabilised the lives of small and medium scale business people and entrepreneurs and forced them to end lives as they go bankrupt, said the Prakasam District Congress Committee president Eda Sudhakar Reddy.

As the demonetisation completes two years, the Congress leaders organised a rally from the DCC office in Ongole to the State Bank of India in Mangamuru Donka and staged a protest on Friday.

After raising slogans against the Union government and Prime Minister, Sudhakar Reddy said that the Narendra Modi had provided false information and announced that the demonetisation helps in bringing out black money, ends terrorism and corruption in the country and promised to deposit Rs 15 lakh in each individual account.

He also challenged to hang him in public, if he fails to set things right in 50 days. Instead the public hanged themselves for not meeting the needs as banks didn’t allowed to take back their own hard earned money, Sudhakar Reddy alleged.

He said that the demonetisation destabilised the banking system, made bankers corrupt, made people die in the ATM queues.

The Congress leaders N Seetharamajaneyulu, P Venkateswarlu, G Rajvimal, Gouse Mohiuddin, Vema Srinu, G Lakshma Reddy, Y Rajasekhar and others also participated in the protest programme.
