Settle claims on voter IDs by Nov 30: CEO AP

Ongole: The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), of Andhra Pradesh, RP Sisodia ordered the district collector and District Electoral Officer Vadarevu Vinay Chand to settle the issues and claims on the voter IDs by the month-end. He organised a video-conference with the collector and other electoral registration officers on Thursday and Vinay Chand and other officers participated in it.

Sisodia ordered the officers to address all issues as soon as they were uploaded to ERO Net but take care so that no logical errors occurred. He also ordered them to see no duplicate and fake voters were registered in the meantime.

The CEO ordered the district officials to send the EVMs to BEL and ECIL in Bangalore for improvement. He said the machines should be shifted in authorised container trucks along with an armed guard and ordered to photograph and video shoot the entire process.

Vinay Chand explained to the CEO that arrangements were made to shift 8,356 ballot units and 5,431 control units for improvement to BEL in Bangalore. He said that 1,07,328 claims were received for Form 6, while a total of 1,24,917 claims and objections were received under Form 6, 6A, 7, 8, 8A through online submission between July 1 and October 31. 

He assured the CEO that the process of addressing all claims would be completed by the month-end. Joint Collector S Nagalakshmi, DRO V Venkata Subbaiah, EROs and other concerned officials were also participated in the videoconference.
