Ganta Srinivasa Rao seeks people’s support to TDP
Kadapa: Minister for Human Resource Development Ganta Srinivasa Rao urged the people not to franchise their vote in favour of YSR Congress or Jana Sena parties in the 2019 elections as the duo have joined hands with BJP which is restricting the development in Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to media persons here on Friday, he said though BJP led NDA government had done injustice to Andhra Pradesh, the other parties in state are not bothered over its stand. Instead of flaying the party, they are targeting the TDP for their political benefit.
The minister recalled that during the 2014 elections, Narendra Modi who addressed in seven public meetings in AP, assured of extending financial assistance to the state after his party coming to power in the elections. Instead of keeping his promises, the Prime Minister is restricting the development of the state in undemocratic methods, he said.
Ganta said Central government has extended financial assistance of only Rs 1,500 crores for the construction of new capital in AP, whereas it has spent Rs 3,500 crores for making of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel statue.
Defending the step of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in joining hands with Congress, the minister said that the Chief Minister had taken the move only to protect the nation’s interest and to prevent BJP to come to power in 2019 elections at the Centre.
``During its four-and-a-half year rule, BJP has lost the public confidence and it was clearly proved as the party bagged only 7 seats against 30 contested during these years and totally lost its existence in Karnataka elections by confining to only one seat with hard effort,’’ he added.
Marketing Minister C Adinarayana Reddy has said it will be history as the state government is going to establish steel plant on its own in Kadapa district though the Central government is not extending its support. He said that the steel plant will be set up in Mylavaram mandal in Jammalamadugu Assembly constituency.
The minister pointed that being as Kadapa man, the role of YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy over steel plant is highly regrettable and he is least bothered over the issue. TDP district president R Srinivasulu Reddy, leaders P Govardhan Reddy and others were present.
