Srikakulam: The Central government funds are being misappropriated by the TDP in the name of Titli cyclone compensation, alleged BJP Srikakulam city president Ch Venkateswara Rao.

In a press conference on Saturday, he said that TDP government in the state was using national disaster response funds (NDRF) Rs 1476 crore for Titli compensation and relief operations.

But TDP leaders are not explaining the facts to the people of Titli affected areas in the district to get mileage, he lamented.

People of Srikakulam are aware about facts regarding Central government aid to the state, he elaborated.

In the victims lists so many irregularities are taking place like fake recording of names of farmers for loss of cattle sheds, coconut trees, cashew plants and mango gardens.

Fake names also entered in the lists regarding loss of kutcha houses, wall collapse, shops damage, he charged.

Loss of coconut, mango and cashew plants showed in the lists even in the vacant lands, he criticised.

All the irregularities are taking place with alleged support of TDP ministers and MLAs, he charged.

As a result, actual losers and victims are unable to get benefit and central funds are being misappropriated, he alleged. BJP leaders Ch Sridevi, G Bhagyalaxmi and S Nageswara Rao were present.
