Tirupati: District Collector PS Pradyumna gave a call to degree college students to work with Anganwadi centres in the district for protection of children’s health.

Addressing the principals of degree colleges at a meeting in Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) here on Saturday, the Collector asked students to guide the Anganwadi teachers and helpers in keeping the premises clean and providing nutritious food to children, who are below 5 years.

The Collector directed degree college principals to exhort students to do social service and to take part in the district development activities.

“Our aim is to announce the district as malnutrition-free,” PS Pradyumna added. Degree students affiliated to the SVU should visit their respective Anganwadi centres at least four times in the month of December.

In the meeting, degree college principals, SVU in-charge V-C Prof G Janaki Ramaiah, SVIMS Director Ravikumar and others were present.
