Chandrababu Naidu to flag off F1H2O boat racing on November 16 at Berm Park

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Department of Tourism has announced the schedule of F1H2O boat racing competitions to be held on the banks of Berm Park, Krishna river from November 16 to 18. Though the event takes place for three days, main racing competitions will be organised on November 17 and 18. The first day is allocated for preparations and practice. In all, nine teams are participating with 19 boats in the international racing event. This is the fifth edition of the F1H2O power boat racing event.

The main race will be held on November 17 from 2.30 pm to 2.50 pm. Again the racing events will be held in two sessions from 3.15 pm. to 3.35 pm and F1 Grand Prix race from 4 pm to 5 pm on the last day on November 18. This is the final race and the winners will receive prizes from Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.  On the first day, scrutinising work will take place and the drivers will have practice session. The length for the boat race is 2,125 metres with five turns. The State government in association with Maalaxmi group is conducting the international F1H2O boat racing event for the first time in Amaravati to promote tourism. 

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will flag off the event at 3 pm on November 16, the first day of the three-day event. The viewers can watch the practice of the boat racers. The Department of Tourism has divided the river front area into 12 zones to conduct the event without hurdles. Zone 1 area is allocated to the district officers, zone 2 is press briefing and timing area, zone 3 is used as lounge, zone 4, 6 and 7 is VVIP seating area  zone 5 is CM seating area and zone 8 is for crew tents and Paddock area. 

Zone 9 is for public viewing area along the river front, zone 10 is for VVIP parking, zone 11 is for F1H2O crew and APTDC offices and zone 12 is music programmes area. Berm Park was developed for Krishna Pushkaralu in 2016 and being used for air shows, boat racing and other tourism promotional activities.
