Democracy at stake under BJP rule: Ashok Gehlot
Vijayawada: Former Rajasthan chief minister and senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot stressed on the need to dethrone Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the power to save democracy in the country. He expressed concern saying that democracy is at stake and constitutional bodies are weakened in the country under the NDA rule, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He visited the State Congress office Andhra Ratna Bhavan here on Saturday and interacted with the Congress party leaders. He spoke to PCC chief N Raghuveera Reddy and other leaders and made inquiries about the party activities in view of theforthcoming elections. Later, briefing the newsmen, Ashok Gehlot said that he had come to the capital region Amaravati to meet Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
He said that there is an urgent need to forge an alliance by all Opposition parties in the country to unseat Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the power to save democracy. Earlier, Congress leaders gave a warm welcome to the former Chief Minister of Rajasthan, at Vijayawada Airport. Later, he visited the Congress state office and spoke to the party leaders.
