Varla Ramaiah rues Dinesh Reddy’s comments on law & order
Vijayawada: AP State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) chairman and TDP general secretary Varla Ramaiah took strong exception to the comments of former DGP of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh Dinesh Reddy that the law and order failed in Andhra Pradesh and there was no security to Opposition leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
Varla Ramaiah, addressing the media at the TDP district office here on Saturday, said Dinesh Reddy, who is associated with the BJP, made baseless comments against AP in Hyderabad. He alleged that the BJP leaders are making senseless comments against the state. He asserted that the law and order situation is very good in Andhra Pradesh. He said even the Union Home Ministry praised the efficiency of Andhra Pradesh police and it was unfortunate that persons like former DGP to have made such comments against Andhra Pradesh and law and order situation.
Varla Ramaiah alleged that the BJP failed to give protection to Dalits and Muslims in the BJP-ruled states. Rapes and atrocities against Muslims and Dalits have become very common in the BJP-ruled states, he said. "I take strong objection to the statement of Dinesh Reddy," he said and demanded that he should immediately withdraw the comments made against the law and order situation in Andhra Pradesh.
