Guntur:  Stating that the TDP government-led by Chandrababu Naidu took a loan of Rs 1.53-lakh crore from the World Bank for the development of AP, BJP MP GVL Narasimha Rao demanded on Sunday that Naidu should explain for what purpose he had spent the funds.

Addressing a press conference at the BJP office in Guntur city on Sunday, he alleged that corruption was rampant in the State under the TDP rule. He recalled that Chandrababu Naidu had made 600 promises at the time of elections and questioned how many of those he had fulfilled during the last four years. GVL also said that Naidu had failed to submit utilisation certificates for the funds released by the Centre.

He said Naidu did nothing to the State and pointed out that there is severe drinking water crisis in seven Assembly constituencies in his native Chittoor district. “The Chief Minister failed to solve the drinking water problem in his native district,” GVL said. Naidu joined hands with the Congress only to gain political mileage, he said.

GVL pointed out that the Centre had sanctioned 11 Central government institutions during the last four years to AP and fulfilled promises made at the time of elections. He explained various welfare schemes introduced by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He urged the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha activists to conduct campaign about TDP failures and work for the victory of the party in the coming general elections.
