Over 8L units grounded in State: Ganta Srinivasa Rao
Visakhapatnam: Finally, the bankers’ have relented and started issuing loans to the unemployed youth under the State government’s priority sector schemes.
With this, the State government directed the officials concerned to conduct Mega Grounding Mela (victory on the poverty), for sanction of loans and financial assistance to all the pending applications since 2016-17.
While inaugurating the Mega Grounding Mela at Andhra University Grounds, HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that the TDP government was giving top priority for the upliftment of poor and implementing over 125 welfare schemes spending Rs 65,000 crore per annum to provide minimum income to the families.
During the Mega Grounding Mela held under Adarana-2, over 8 lakh units would be grounded to the tune of Rs.4,000 crore across the state, the minister said. While explaining about the units to be grounded under the Mega Grounding Mela, Collector Pravin Kumar informed that in the first phase, the programme would be held at Narsipatnam, Anakapalle and Visakhapatnam revenue divisions on Monday.
The Collector informed that pending applications during 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19 were cleared and sanctioned financial assistance worth Rs.84.04 crore to 12,904 beneficiaries in the Mega Grounding Mela.
The collector also briefed about the revenue division-wise breakup of the units sanctioned during the Mela. ZP Chairperson L Bhavani, MLAs V Ramakrishna Babu, Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy and PVGR Naidu also addressed the gathering.
All the welfare departments set up stalls at the programme and assisted the bankers for the sanction of the loans on a swift move.
