Welfare of downtrodden govt priority: Siddha

Ongole: The state government has prioritised the welfare of downtrodden classes in the society and is introducing various schemes for their development, announced the Minister for Forests, Environment, Science and Technology Siddha Raghavarao.

The minister participated as chief guest in the ‘Pedarikampai Gelugu’, assets and loans distribution to the beneficiaries under Adarana 2 programme, held at mini stadium in Ongole on Monday.

Speaking in the meeting, Siddha Raghavarao said that the government has distributed about 8 lakhs units worth of Rs 8,000 crore to the beneficiaries in the state and created a history. 

He alleged that the earlier governments misused the SC sub plan funds, but the TDP government has allocated extra funds for the weaker sections. 

He said that about Rs 70 crore worth of units were being distributed to 8,779 beneficiaries in the district. He praised Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu for introducing and implementing welfare schemes.

Collector Vadarevu Vinay Chand, MLC Karanam Balaram, MLAs Damacharla Janardhana Rao, Gottipati Ravikumar, DVB Swamy, Joint Collector S Nagalakshmi, Trainee Collector S Nisanthi, BC Corporation ED A Nageswara Rao, SC Corporation ED Jagannath Rao, tribal welfare officer Rajyalakshmi, BC welfare officer Lakshmi Durga, minority welfare officer Sirajulla, STEP CEO B Ravi, lead bank manager Venkateswaralu and other officials also participated in the programme.
