Statehood for Seema demanded
Tirupati: Separate state for Rayalaseema is the only solution for all long-pending problems of the region, said all speakers, who have attended the round-table conference at Press Club here on Friday. The meet was held with a special focus on Sribagh Pact and future of Rayalaseema.
In the meeting, Rayalaseema Adyana Samastha (RAS) founder President Bhuman Subramanyam Reddy informed the gathering that all the political parties have betrayed the people of Rayalaseema People. “Separate statehood for Rayalaseema is a 112-year-old demand,” he mentioned. He came down heavily on Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for not fulfilling the demands of Rayalaseema people.
The RAS founder said the Irrigation Department has failed to provide water for farm lands. Bhuman announced that a wider meeting will be conducted with all the four districts to chalk out the action programme for separate Rayalaseema state demand.
Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) retired history Professor Devi Reddy Subramanyam Reddy said that not even a single condition of Sribagh Pact did not come into reality as all the previous governments had ignored the Sribagh Pact. Senior journalist Professor Ragava Sharma has criticised that all the policy makers including politicians from this region also ignored the people’s development for the last many decades.
Republican Party state President P Anjaiah alleged that all the political parties maintaining silence in fulfilling the desires of Rayalaseema people. In the meeting, CPM leader P Venkata Rathnam and others also spoke.
