BJP dares TDP leaders to seek fresh mandate
Tadepalligudem: BJP MLA and former minister Pydikondala Manikyala Rao has challenged the TDP leaders to resign as people’s representatives and contest again to prove whom the people are supporting.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Rao lambasted TDP for claiming the development works sanctioned by BJP-led government at Centre as their own.
“I agree we contested the previous elections as allies. As TDP walked out of the alliance, let us resign to our posts. I am ready to contest again. Are you (TDP MLAs) ready to accept the challenge? People will decide our fate and decide whom they are supporting,” he challenged.
Rao took serious objection to the TDP claiming the development as their effort while it was he (Rao) who had worked for their sanction.
“Whatever works for which foundation stones were laid by TDP leaders on Monday had really been sanctioned because of my efforts.
Moreover, all the works were funded by the Centre and not a single rupee by the state government,” the former minister added.
It may be mentioned here that Manikyala Rao was arrested recently when he challenged TDP leaders for an open debate on development and tried to come out of his residence to attend the debate venue.
The MLA’s challenge resulted in tension following which the police arrested many leaders of the BJP across the state.
