Centre will provide aid to Cyclone Titli victims
Srikakulam: The BJP-led NDA government at Centre will provide help to Titli victims and at present the government is concerned about the damage said Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Hansraj Gangaram Ahir. He toured Titli cyclone affected areas in the district on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion Gangaram Aahir explained that the Central government was providing its aid to all states to face natural calamities. The AP government had also received it and would help more to reconstruct Titli-affected areas he assured.
The minister visited cyclone affected areas in Palasa and Vajrapukotturu mandals along with BJP MLA P Vishnu Kumar Raju and MLC, P V N Madhav and other BJP leaders. On the occasion, the minister collected information regarding loss of crops and houses, etc.
Palasa municipal chairman Kotha Purnachandra Rao submitted a memorandum to the Central minister seeking allocation of Rs 5,000 crore as immediate relief, permanent financial aid to revive Uddanam area, establishment of permanent camps for National Disaster Response force (NDRF), Air Force stations in Srikakulam.
He also demanded launching of a Telugu radio satellite channel to provide information quickly among sea coast villagers on cyclones and other calamities to mitigate damage.
After receiving the memorandum of demands central minister responded positively and assured to fulfil it after discussing on it with Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. He expressed serious concern over loss caused due to cyclone in Uddanam area while interacting with journalists here.
