Parents must support wards’ interests: APCRC chief

Visakhapatnam: Women Development and Child Welfare department, in association with several NGOs, celebrated the International Children’s Rights Day here on Tuesday.

While participating in the programme,ZP chairperson L Bhavani said that the governments have issued several Acts for the welfare and protection of the children and one should aware about them. 

She called upon the NGOs and individuals to call 1098 for protection of the children rights. Speaking on the occasion, Chairperson of AP Children Rights Commission (APCRC) Ganta Hymavathi stated that parents are providing all the facilities to their children, but failing to identify the needs of the children and their thoughts and ideas.

The parents must identify  their children’s interests and their ideas and should support them, she added. She called upon the administration of the various departments to spot the school dropouts and child labour and put them at the nearest educational institutions.
