Build model houses in every municipality

Anantapur: R Karikal Valaven, Principal Secretary of the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD), has called upon municipal commissioners to build model houses in all municipalities for creating awareness on the government's housing programme.

He also asked them to speed up the flagship schemes of the government including urban housing, solid waste management and other schemes. He said that under the ODF Plus scheme, the solid waste management would be taken up on a PPP mode and will be completed by December 2018.

Addressing a review meeting with the civic officials here, Karikal called upon commissioners to prepare final list of beneficiaries of urban housing scheme at the earliest. They should also build model houses in all municipalities to create awareness among people on urban housing schemes.

District Collector Veera Pandian said that solid waste management schemes were delayed due to issues relating to land acquisition. MLAs Palle Raghunatha Reddy, Jitendra Goud and Chand Basha also spoke.
