MSME Park to come up in Challapalli

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday announced the construction of Autonagar and Micro and Small Medium Enterprises Park at Challapalli in Krishna district. He said that the Autonagar will be constructed by APIIC in 10 acres and MSME park in 15 acres.

Addressing a public meeting at Challapalli, Naidu underlined the need to promote agro-based industries in the delta region. He said the per capita income of Avanigadda mandal is Rs.2.09 lakh against the average per capital income of Krishna district of Rs 1.89 lakh. 

He said the farmers of Challapalli mandal are getting yield of 40 bags per acre due to the diversion of Godavari waters to Krishna district. He said that earlier the farmers used to get only 30 bags per acre. 

Naidu said Challapalli has history of 400 years because of Zamindari system. He reminded that the people revolted against the Zamindars also. The Chief Minister assured that the State government would take measures for the development of Challapalli region.

Referring to linking of rivers in the State, he said the government is determined to link rivers right from Vamsadhara to Penna and use the available waters properly. Stating that Polavaram Project would be completed in three years, he said that the State government had spent an additional amount of Rs 3,300 crore for speedy construction of the project. 

Naidu inspected the compost plant and inaugurated a giant statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Challapalli. The villagers felicitated the Chief Minster and praised the efforts being made by hiom to develop the State.

Ministers Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao, Kollu Ravindra, Machilipatnam MP Konakalla Narayana, Deputy Speaker in the Assembly Mandali Buddha Prasad, District Collector B Lakshmikantham and others were present on the occasion. 

The Chief Minster felicitated SRK Prasad and his wife Dr Padmavathi for their efforts in the making of Swatch Challapalli. He earlier participated in Grama Darsini programme at Ullipalem village of Koduru mandal.
