Kadapa: Tension prevailed in Pulivendula and Jammalamadugu constituencies, after police enforced 144 section in Goriganuru village of Jammalamadugu mandal, to prevent former Kadapa MP Avinash Reddy, Kadapa Mayor K Suresh, Pulivendula YSR Congress in-charge D Sudheer Reddy, and TDP leaders former MLC C Narayana Reddy and C Ramanjayaneya Reddy, (brothers of minister C Adinarayana Reddy) entering the village. They were put under house arrest.

According to the sources, YSR Congress Party proposed to invite 48 families, along with people from surrounding 10 villages including Dharmapuram, Sugamanchi vari palle, Sunnapuralla palle, Devagudi (native place of minister Adinarayana Reddy) and Peddadanduru of Jammalamadugu mandal to join the party on Wednesday.

Reportedly this led to a heated exchange between two groups in Goriganuru village and police rushed to the spot and enforced Section-144 to protect law and order in the village.  Avinash Reddy alleged that Marketing Minister Adinarayana Reddy was responsible for whole episode as he had instructed the police to prevent the entry of YSR Congress leaders in to the Jammalamadugu constituency to stop people from joining
the YSRCP.

However, police officials said prohibitory orders were imposed and leaders were placed under house arrest to prevent group clashes in the village. It may be recalled that these villages are home to 10,000 voters, who are supporters of Adinarayana Reddy, as he had won the elections between 2004 and 2014 over his TDP rival P Ramasubba Reddy, with the help from villagers who have been extending support to him over the years.
