Contract employees to get pay scales, 12-month salaries

Amaravati: The Group of Ministers headed by Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu  approved the proposal of providing pay scale and 12-months salary to the contract employees in the state.

The ministers including Ganta Srinivasa Rao, N Md Farooq and Yanamala Ramakrishnudu took these decisions in accordance with the Supreme Court directions and the demand from the contract employees working in various departments in the state government. The GoM meeting was held at Finance Minister’s chamber at Secretariat here on Thursday. 

So far, the state government has been giving salaries to the contract employees only for 10 months, which is now enhanced to 12 months, explained Minister Srinivasa Rao, in a press meet.

The retirement age of the contract employees also increased to 60 years. The pregnant women leaves will be given to the pregnant contract women employees for six months, he said.
