Encourage more women to enter workforce

Visakhapatnam: Indian Women Network (IWN)-Andhra Pradesh Chapter organised a Women’s Leadership Conclave with the theme ‘She Aspires-She Inspires’ here on Thursday. The IWN promoted by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) works to create an enabling environment to encourage more women to enter workforce, to stay in the jobs and to reach the leadership positions in the organisations.

There were two panel discussions organised on ‘Unique Stories of Courage,’ the panelists are Padala Bhudevi, Director, Maryam Grains, Vaishali Kulkarni More, First Solo Woman Biker from Andhra Pradesh and Meenakshi Anantaraman, CEO and Founder, Razmatazz Entertainment Networks, where panelists shared their unique stories and experiences. The session was moderated by Lakshmi Priya, convener, policy and advocacy, IWN Andhra Pradesh and Director Legal Labs.

The other panel on ‘Inspiration and Belief’ discussed about the core strengths of women and being a woman, itself is a big strength.  The panelists are Dr Rama Devi Gourineni, Co-Founder and Managing Director, Amara Raja Batteries, G Prem Kajal, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Visakhapatnam and Y Jayanthi, Group Leader, Brandix.  

The session was moderated by Prof S Rajani, Director, Gayatri Vidya Parishad College for Degree and PG. While addressing inaugural session, Dr Ramachandra N Galla,  Founder and Chairman, Amara Raja Group of Companies said that women is the strength and he believes that women can do everything.  He explained how his company has grown by encouraging and empowering woman and providing equal opportunities for both men and women. 

Dr Ramachandra N Galla has been felicitated  by G Murali Krishna, Chairman, CII Visakhapatnam and Managing Director, Fluentgrid Limited,  KVV Raju, Vice-Chairman, CII Visakhapatnam and CEO, Granuels Omnichem and G S Shiv Kumar, Past Chairman, CII Andhra Pradesh and CEO, Maple Software Limited along with Lakshmi Mukkavili, Chairwoman, IWN Andhra Pradesh and Managing Director, Patra India.

Shubra Sharma, Vice –Chairwoman, CII Indian Women Network, Andhra Pradesh and Head - Human Resources, HSBC Electronic Data Processing India also spoke.
