Skater completes 4,500 kms, reaches City

Visakhapatnam: Rana Uppalapati, Titan’s business associate and international skater, who kick-started his journey on skates to cover the Indian Golden Quadrilateral (covering 6,000-km) entered Port City Visakhapatnam on Thursday.

Rana, who started his skating journey at Hosur in Karnataka on September 5, has covered Tumakuru, Sira, Chitradurga, Hubli, Belgaum, Kolhapur, Pune, Mumbai, Bharuch, Vadodara, New Delhi, Lucknow, Varanasi, Patna, Dhanbad, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar and reached Visakhapatnam. Rana completed 4,500-km long journey.

During his marathon skating, Rana also collecting funds for education support to 10,000 girl students. As part of 90 days journey, the programme will raise funds for education of underprivileged girl children and create awareness on child safety, especially on ‘good touch and bad touch’.

On his arrival to the port city, Rana Uppalapati said that it is a great initiative to be a part of Titan Company Limited and passionate about the education of girl child. “We also want to do our bit on child safety to educate children, not only girls but also boys on 'Good touch and Bad touch,” he added.  

The CII-YI and Titan will carry out 6,000 awareness sessions for children on ‘Good Touch and Bad Touch’ as part of ECHO programme. The logistics for Rana’s journey will be taken care of by ‘you too can run.’ For details about Rana's further leads one can login www.titancompany.in/echo
