Vizianagaram: The graduates, who completed their teacher training and looking for jobs are disappointed with the DSC notification which was released recently. They expected that the notification would be for a minimum of 20,000 posts but the government notified for only 7,729 posts.

Thousands of B.Ed graduates have been preparing for their dream job for the past three years and most of them have joined in coaching centres residing in sharing room with their friends and preparing day and night for the exam. Vizianagaram is a reputed town for such competitive exams and thousands of applicants joined here in coaching centres to test their fate.

The DSC exam will be the toughest one as the applicants need to compete with huge number of applicants to crack the exam. K Rami Naidu of Gajapathinagaram, an applicant for secondary grade teacher post, said, “Generally, a minimum of 1,000 posts were filled in the past recruitments but this time only hundreds of posts were notified and the competition is very high.

Now I have no confidence on the exam and I don't think that I would get the job. Again, I need to wait for some more years for another notification. I quit the private job and preparing for this exam but after seeing the notification, I am totally discouraged. I wasted two years of time and I lost the income,” he wailed.

Samala Simhachalam, State president of SC, ST Teachers Union, demanded to recruit all the vacancies to maintain standards in school education. “The government should recruit regular teachers instead appointing on contract and outsourcing basis. Unless the entire vacancies are filled, the quality education in the schools will not be improved,” he said.
