NCC celebrates 70th Raising Day
Tirupati: The NCC group, Tirupati and all its units celebrated the 70th Raising Day amidst pomp and gaiety at Regional Science Centre (RSC) here on Friday.
Group Commander Col KV Vithal in his welcome address said that the NCC has been playing a unique role in the country by churning out the youth as disciplined force with service motive. NCC is serving as a platform for the youth to showcase their talents and channelising their energies for constructive side, he said and listed out the achievements of the Tirupati group.
The NCC cadets have conducted various social service activities, adventure sports besides achieving A Grade in the certificate exams and also the NCC group also participated in the national level camps, he said.
Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) Registrar Anuradha, who was the chief guest, presented awards to the meritorious NCC cadets, Associate NCC officers, instructors and civilian staff, who performed commendably during the last training year.
Addressing the cadets, she emphasised on adhering to the values and ethics and congratulated the NCC for improving the standards of the youth. Cultural programmes by the cadets added colour and tempo to the event.
