53 cops booked for traffic violations in Visakhapatnam city
Visakhapatnam: Once again the city police had proved that everyone was equal and none will be spared from the law, by imposing fines for 53 policemen booked under traffic violation cases in Vizag. Most bizarre was that the 53 policemen were booked for violating the basic helmet rule while riding a two-wheeler.
As per the police records, it was revealed that 53 cases have been filed against the kakhimen this year so far in Vizag while conducting special drives across the city.
It was very interesting that most of the violations by policemen has been brought to light by the denizens of Vizag, after posting pictures of policemen while violating the basic helmet rule and lodging complaints through police WhatsApp number and through other police social platforms life twitter and Facebook.
Speaking to The Hans India, ADCP (Traffic) M Ramesh Kumar said that all are equal in front of law, none will be spared if found guilty by the law. Be its commonman or men in uniform, the city police will register a case on the spot if they found violating the law.
“We have given such rights and freedom to our police from the ground level by issuing special tabs to them, to register the case without any arguments with vehicle owners,” he added.
As the people were worried about regular accidents, the authorities have been adopting as many as measures in trying to increase the road safety awareness among citizens. Not only imposing fines and penalties for the rule breakers, the authorities have also tried to implement several innovative strategies to enhance the road safety in the city.
