AP needs power change: NRIs and intellectuals

  YSRCP president Jagan Mohan Reddy is being hailed as the political alternative in Andhra Pradesh and is being praised for his leadership style and observed political acumen at the panel discussion held by NRIs and intellectuals from various fields in Kona Bhavan in Bapatla on Sunday.

The event “Why Andhra Pradesh needs change?" was organised to put forth a learned perspective on why YSRCP needs to be brought to power and views, opinions were incorporated from different perspective.

The panel comprised of doctors, bureaucrats and NRI’s. They are Sai Baba, President, Forum for Better Bapatla, Harsha Vardhan – NRI, Ambati Murali - Priest Association President, Guntur, Prof. Jai Shekar - Retd. Professor, Ambedkar University and Venkateshwar Reddy - President, Jana Chaitanya Vedhika among others.

Stressing on the need to change power-hand in Andhra, Sai Baba said, “Political interventions in public institutions has increased and this needs to be changed.”  Venkateshwar Reddy noted that “There are loopholes in current electoral arrangement like caste, religion, money and it should be checked”.

Panel members also pointed out that privatisation of education needs to be cut down and state needs to invest more in public institutions. Also, that AP needs change since government violated constitutional amendments by circumventing surpanches and electing representatives through Janma Bhoomi Committees.

Overall, the event witnessed a healthy interaction between panel members and audiences on issues pertaining to the state with focus on the context of re-organization in 2014, financial frauds, privatisation of education and Chandrababu Naidu government's failure to attain the special category status for Andhra Pradesh and rising corruption in the state.

And, that the current government made an opportunistic exit from the NDA coalition and is now trying to deceive people from its own failure.
