Eastern Naval Command band enthralls Andhra University students

Visakhapatnam: Andhra University students witnessed the real music of Indian Navy after an enthralling performance given by the Eastern Naval Command Band as part of Navy Day 2019 celebrations on Saturday at YVS Murthy Auditorium.

 The band performed for an hour ranging from martial to pop and inspirational before finally culminating with the evergreen patriotic song ‘Sare Jahan Se Achha’ followed by the ‘National Anthem of India.’ 

Andhra University Vice Chancellor Prof G Nageswara Rao accompanied by the Registrar, Principal, AU College of Engineering, and a host of other senior faculty members of the varsity participated in the programme.

Under the baton of Commander Satish K Champion, Licentiate in Military Music Examination, and currently the Principal conductor of this ensemble, the band continues to relate closely to its audience, making every effort to incorporate different forms and textures of music. The event gave the students of AU a glimpse of the naval tradition helping them bring closer to considering navy as a career choice.
