Tajunnisa appointed vice-president of State Mahila Congress

 Vijayawada: Tajunnisa Kirmani, who resigned from BJP Mahila Morcha, joined the Congress party at a meeting at Andhra Ratna Bhavan here on Monday.

AP Mahila Congress president Sunkara Padmasri appointed Tajunnisa Kiramani as the vice-president of the AP Mahila Congress.

Addressing the meeting on the occasion, Tajunnisa Kirmani said that she joined the Congress party in the belief that only the Congress would provide protection and proper place for women and minorities. 

“Andhra Pradesh could get the special category status only if Rahul Gandhi becomes the prime minister,” she added.

Jakkula Indira, city Mahila Congress president, Rehana, city Mahila Congress vice-president and Sunita Jawahar Lal Nehru, city Mahila Congress general secretary congratulated Tajunnisa Kirmani on her appointment as vice-president of AP Mahila Congress.
