Three drown in quarry pit in Paritala village

Vijayawada: In a tragic incident, a 38-year-old woman and two children drowned in a quarry pit near Paritala village of Kanchikacharla mandal on Sunday. According to the Kanchikacharla police, a woman Devanam Parameswari 38, her daughter, Meena ,4, and Vallepu Durga, daughter of her sister, died in the mishap.

Parameswari went to the quarry pit to wash clothes with two children. While playing near the pit, Meena fell in the pit accidentally. To save the life of daughter, the mother jumped into water and drowned. Another child Durga also drowned while trying to rescue them. A pal of gloom descended upon the village with the mishap. Kanchikacharla police registered a case.
