APSRTC to acquire 750 new buses

Vizianagaram: N V Surendra Babu, Managing Director of APSRTC, said that the corporation is acquiring 750 new buses shortly to provide more services to people. Though the corporation is in deep troubles, it has not increased bus fares since 2015, he pointed out.

On Wednesday, he visited the RTC zonal office at Vizianagaram and reviewed the performance and services of the corporation with the depot managers and other senior officers under the North Coast region. Later, he said that motive of the corporation is not to make profits but to provide best services to people.

'We will review the performance and behaviour of the drivers of the hired buses and will take serious action if there is any misconduct. Our aim is to provide some more facilities to the passengers without raising fares. Our aim is to increase the income trough parcel services. I will tour every depot and study the local issues and solve them,” he said. Executive Directors G Jayaram, A Ramakrishna and others accompanied the Managing Director.
