Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday said that the government will organise one lakh house-warming ceremonies very soon across the State.
During a teleconference with officials from his Undavalli residence here, the Chief Minister asked the officials to complete all the projects as per targets. Directing the officials to provide necessary amenities at the houses and apartments the government was constructing, the Chief Minister observed that unless they have proper social infrastructure the beneficiaries would not be able to use the houses to their satisfaction.
Enquiring about payments to be made to contractors, Naidu asked the officials to release money as soon as they complete the works. Chandrababu Naidu said that the government has aimed to construct 29 lakh houses by investing up to Rs 60,000 crore in rural and urban areas.
Going back to his family experience in constructing houses, he said that his father had struggled very hard to build their house when he was a child. He observed that he wanted to help the poor in constructing their houses and hence started this massive programme.
