Vizag to get Tourist police station
Visakhapatnam: One more police station, exclusively to deal with the issues of tourist issues and to work for prevention of drowning deaths in the blue waters is coming up in the city. The police station will be named as Tourist Police Station. It will be located on the beach road.
Due to increase in the number of drowning deaths in the Bay of Bengal particularly in the city limits, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu held discussions with the district administration to take up preventive measures.
During at the District Development Review Meeting held on Monday night, the MLAs including V Ganesh Kumar raised the issue and asked the chair to take immediate measures to control the drowning deaths.
While responding on the issue, Collector Pravin Kumar informed to the MLAs, Ministers and others that Chief Minister gave instructions to establish an exclusive Tourism Police Station.
With the Chief Minister’s directions Commissioner of Police is on the job and preparing the proposals to establish Tourism Police Station, the Collector said. The new police station would deal the issues of the tourist, beach visitors and also would take up measures to prevent deaths due to drowning, Pravin Kumar said.
