Kanaka Durga temple introduces Suprabhata Seva

Vijayawada: The Kanaka Durga temple administration has introduced Suprabhata Seva on the lines of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD). A team of priests would chant special mantras and perform special puja as first puja to Goddess Durga in the process of opening temple and special pujas every day. Now, the puja has got significance in the list of pujas on the premises of Durga temple.

In fact, the temple administration started trial run of puja almost two weeks ago. But the puja was introduced officially just three days ago. As many as four priests of temple stand in front of main door of temple and chant Suprabhata puja mantras. The officials of temple and staff also take part in the puja.

Only 25 devotees can be allowed to participate in the puja daily. The puja starts at 3 am every day. The devotees participate in the puja are first visitors to the deity. After completion of Suprabhata Seva, the temple priests will perform Abhishekam and Khadgamala pooja from 3.30 am to 4:30 pm.

The temple administration has fixed Suprabhata Seva as Rs 300 per ticket. Though the temple administration fixed ticket price, officially ticket sale was not launched so far.   

Meanwhile, the temple administration has set up special public address system to air the mantras of puja. Mikes have also been set up at various places from Radham Centre to Indrakeeladri on the temple premises so that the devotees can hear mantras of priests. One temple official said that the temple administration was guiding the devotees who participate in the puja to present with tradition attire. 

Temple Executive Officer (EO) V Koteswaramma did not respond when the The Hans India tried to contact her to get information in this regard. Meanwhile, the devotees are excited on the special puja launched by temple administration.

Balakrishna, a private employee and closely connected with the temple as a devotee since two decades, hailed the temple administration for introducing Suprabhata Seva. The puja would increase the pride of temple, he said.
